In the early 1980s, Dan and Cal Marsh began refurbishing pontoons and boats as an after-work hobby to earn extra income. Their passion for building elaborate lake spearing boats led us to this venture. At the time, they were running the family meat market business, which was frequented by many lake vacationers. Word spread about our boat-building projects, and soon, these vacationers started bringing them their boats and pontoons for rebuilding.

In 1986, Dan and Cal Marsh sold the meat market to dedicate themselves fully to pontoon rebuilding. What started as a small hobby quickly evolved into one of the Midwest's first full-time, professional pontoon rebuilding businesses.

Throughout the ’90s and 2000s, the company experienced steady growth and expansion. Our strong relationships with suppliers, eventually led to a new opportunity. Encouraged by industry partners to leverage our expertise, skills, and purchasing power, we launched our online store, www.pontoonspecialists.com, in February 2007.

Since then, this industry, and our company, have gon through many changes. Many original suppliers have been boutgh out by industry giants, but through it all, we have made it a point of pride to source as many of our products from American madde sellers as possible. This directive has continued under our new management, Dan's son, Mike Marsh. Mike grew up at the marina and took over operations in 2017.
